For nearly three weeks now, thousands of protesting farmers have been massed on Delhi’s borders demanding the Narendra Modi government repeal the new farm laws. The government has refused to relent. Though this isn’t talked about as much, the farmers are also demanding the government withdraw two other pieces of legislation – the Commission on Air Quality Management in the National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas Ordinance, 2020 and the proposed Electricity Amendment Act.
