In Delhi’s high-stake battle, the BJP is up against the INDIA bloc, which has fielded three Congress candidates and four from the AAP across the seven Lok Sabha constituencies in the national capital.

As voters battled scorching heat to cast their votes, Newslaundry hit the ground with Avadhesh Kumar in East Delhi, Anmol Pritam in North East Delhi and Sumedha Mittal covering New Delhi, and South Delhi. We spoke to voters, including many voting for the first time, about the issues that matter to them and the extreme weather conditions.

Ahead of the polls, the Election Commission issued 13-page guidelines on facilities to be provided at polling stations to protect voters from the heat. Newslaundry examined if the polling stations were well-equipped and how the heat impacted the polls in the capital city.
