A student protest leading to the ouster of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, a new interim government helmed by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus, and devastating floods – Bangladesh is weathering a whirlwind of crises. And at its forefront is the student community calling for reforms.  

Newslaundry hit the ground to understand the hopes of the Bangladeshi students who led the protest, the ethos of the new Bangladesh, and what all triggered the anger against Sheikh Hasina. We also spoke to student leader Nusrat Tabassum about the way ahead for the student community’s movement. 

Tabassum said, “It is time for revolution.”
