‘BJP opened a new front of terrorism in Jammu’: Omar Abdullah on shift in J&K politics, polls

The former J&K Chief Minister said he expects a ‘magic’ tally in the assembly polls.

Omar Abdullah, chairperson of the National Conference, has served as the youngest Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and even Union minister. In the recent Lok Sabha polls, Abdullah conceded defeat in the Baramulla constituency in North Kashmir against independent candidate Engineer Rashid. Now his party is in the fray in the J&K assembly polls. 

In this Another Election Show, Newslaundry spoke to Abdullah about the regional politics, tactics, terrorism, and the BJP’s policies on Kashmir.

On the assembly polls, the politician said he is expecting a “magic figure”. He delved into the BJP’s alleged “political manoeuvrings” in Kashmir, Engineer Rashid’s influence in the valley, and the changing winds of J&K politics.
