Maharashtra’s political landscape has gotten increasingly polarised between the governing Mahayuti coalition and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi. With the assembly polls approaching, Newslaundry spoke to a cross-section of voters on board the Pune-Hazur Sahib Nanded Superfast Express to understand the issues close to them and what they think of the two alliances.
Vidya Advani, a homemaker, said she would vote for the BJP even if gas cylinders cost Rs 3,000. “Even if someone gives me Rs 1 lakh to not vote for the party, I will still vote for it.”
Syed Anwar, another Maharashtra resident, said the MVA is the only option. “The Congress did not do anything for Muslims, but it at least did not harm us like the BJP.”
