Not 2G, but Mobile Phones Claim More Scalps

Woman and Child Welfare Minister CC Patil was one of those caught peeping into a mobile on which a video of a sexual act was playing. While reports say it was straight up porn, the minister’s version varies from scrutinizing clips from a party to scrutinizing an alleged rape in a foreign country.  Co-operation Minister Savadi, who held the mobile, had said it was a video of a ‘rave party’ which they were watching for reference to understand the house discussion about the rave parties that happened during a tourism festival in coastal Karnataka. And he was sent this valuable reference by the prompt Mangalore in-charge, Minister Krishna Palemar.

This incident would have gone completely unnoticed if not for the dexterity of news cameraman stationed in the media gallery above them, who suspected something fishy when Savadi turned up to look at the media gallery twice, trying to be cautious and ensure that no one was looking. This was when cameramen decided to zoom in and capture the porn clip playing on the mobile. It must be noted that CC Patil, caught bending over to see the porn, is the same minister who had said in early January that women should cover their skin and dress safe to avoid rape, acting as moral police. Now he is caught on the other side of morality. The three ministers were defending themselves until the evening.

After BJP Chief Nitin Gadkari made calls to Chief Minister Sadanand Gowda to enquire about the situation, the ministers were asked to put in their papers, so that it does not become an embarrassment for the party. Well, it already has.
