Let Times Network show you how not to make ads on gender empowerment
The Times Network has been putting out ads that are meant to highlight how awesome the company is when it comes to gender rights, representation, and empowerment. But, of course, since this is the Times Network, they just can’t seem to get it right.
We decided to have a little fun with the ad campaign’s first installment.
But the second one is so, umm, out of line that we’re actually lost for words — and that’s rare. The ad in question makes snide references at actress Priyanka Chopra’s alleged link-ups.
Well, one shouldn’t be surprised given that one of Times Group’s news offering actually thought it’s a good idea to shame actress Deepika Padukone for protesting against the paper’s crass reporting on her. We said it then and we’re saying it now, Times Group needs to quit its half-hearted attempt at sexism and go full throttle. At least, that’ll ensure some transparency for their readers and viewers.
