Indian journalists interact with Pak PM Imran Khan, meanwhile Narendra Modi still hasn’t held a press conference
Social media was flush with posts from the batallion of Indian journalists who went to Islamabad, where Imran Khan had an interation with them. The occasion was the Katarpur corridor groundbreaking ceremony on the Pakistan side, and also coincided with Khan completing 100 days in office. The Pakistan prime minister took questions on pending terrorism investigations into the 1993 and 2008 Mumbai attacks and the case against Dawood Ibrahim and Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed.
Several Indian journalists tweeted about their interaction.
It may not have been the most hard-hitting of interactions, but it was an interaction nevertheless. It needs to be remembered that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has still not held a single press conference since he assumed office in 2014. Modi has only given pre-scripted interviews to some news channels perceived as being friendly to the government, including Republic and Zee News.
