Deepak Chaurasia heckled at Shaheen Bagh
News Nation consulting editor Deepak Chaurasia was heckled at Shaheen Bagh last evening. Chaurasia put out a video that showed two men stopping him from delivering his piece to camera. Later in the clip you can see Chaurasia and his men being mobbed by a crowd and taken out of the venue.
Chaurasia has alleged that he was beaten up and robbed of his camera. Deputy Commissioner of Police, South East, Chinmoy Biswal has said an FIR has been registered against unknown persons under Section 394, which pertains to voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery.
Several journalists took to Twitter condemning the act.
Meanwhile, Gujarat BJP legislator Madhu Shrivastav hurled expletives and manhandled local journalists yesterday when he was asked about a Hanuman statue being erected without permission. The Indian Express reported that he threatened to “slap revenue officials” for allegedly delaying his pet project of installing a Hanuman idol in the centre of Mahadev pond in Wadi area of Vadodara city. “Records, however, show that Shrivastav has already begun construction of the statue without clearance from the revenue department,” the report noted.
