Explained: When a former UP chief secretary becomes election commissioner
There's a new election commissioner in town! His name is Anup Chandra Pandey and his appointment last week caused a bit of a stir.
Pandey previously served as chief secretary to Yogi Adityanath, the current chief minister of Uttar Pradesh. And this state is heading towards an election in March next year.
