'Good news for girls': Watch Navika Kumar ask Neeraj Chopra probing questions about his love life
After Neeraj Chopra's historic gold at the Tokyo Olympics, one hoped to read thoughtful pieces in the media on what this means for sports in India, the lessons we can learn ahead of Paris 2024, and how he journeyed to mark India's debut in track and field events.
Well, we got some of that. We also got to learn about his thoughts on cutting his hair and what actor Samantha Akkineni said about his flexibility (spoiler alert: she called it "crazy"). But it was Times Now Navbharat that truly got to the heart of matters, offering viewers a BIG REVELATION about...
Navika Kumar, she of "imma bounce" fame, chose to christen him the "most eligible bachelor" in the country and asked him probing questions on his love life.
"All the young girls in the country are floored by you right now," Navika told him, speedily following it up with whether Chopra was dating anyone.
No, he said, adding that sports was his focus at the moment. Navika's disappointment was palpable. Couldn't he focus on sports, she asked, and "keep" a girlfriend at the same time?
The next couple of minutes were devoted to what Chopra thought about being the "most eligible bachelor". This is, in the channel's own words, "good news for girls".
You can't really blame Times Now Navbharat though, because this was clearly news, since several other media houses were quick to pick it up. Also, sadly for Navika, Neeraj has made this BIG REVELATION before – two days ago, to be precise – to none other than Indian cricketer Kapil Dev.
