TV Newsance 191: Arvind Kejriwal’s ‘Ganesh-Laxmi’ idea presents a Dharam Sankat for anchors
It was a week like any other, until it wasn’t. Post-Diwali, anchors fawned over the Supreme Leader, with multiple Modis on screens and channels discussing the secrets to his youthful rigour and spiritual strength.
It all seemed fine until Arvind Kejriwal turned godi media on its head mid-week, with a test of religious authenticity, or the biggest-Hindu-of-them-all competition. It was a mega dharam sankat; after all, Hindu dharam bada ya OG Hindu party? The tables turned as anchors went from hum bhi Hindu to hum bhi secular.
