Laadli award for Newslaundry report on women denied access to essential ultrasound
A Newslaundry report has been awarded at the 2024 edition of the Laadli Media and Advertising Awards for Gender Sensitivity, instituted by Population First.
At a ceremony in Mumbai on Wednesday, Senior Reporter Tanishka Sodhi received the award in the English web category for her report on how unmarried women across In dia are denied access to an essential ultrasound. The report, published on March 20, 2023, was one of the entries that was selected from over 798 that were received by the panel across 12 languages.
Population First is a social impact organisation in Mumbai supported by the United Nations Population Fund. In total, the award recognises 74 outstanding contributions in the media.
