Shiv Sena leader Dipesh Mhatre switched from Eknath Shinde’s faction to Uddhav Thackeray's faction last month. Now, he is the MVA’s candidate for the Dombivali seat.

Days before the elections, he speaks to Newslaundry about why he was “forced” to side with Shinde and what pushed him to change sides. He also talks about Maharashtra’s “washing machine” politics and why, despite being allies, the BJP and Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena are at loggerheads in Thane.
